As I think you all know ,we use a bus note system
when we receive a call from parents about end of
the day arrangements. The notes are printed on
bright pink paper and are given to the classroom
teacher as we get the information. Our K-2
students ,who think they may be getting a bus note,
get very anxious if the day goes on and they do not
have their note. I know it is not always possible to
call early, but if the call to the office could be made
as soon as you know, it does alleviate this worry for
the young ones.

FALL TESTING
The time frame for testing (NWEA for grades 3-8,
CPAA for grades K-2) is from September 19-
October 7. The tests will be over Math and Literacy
and generally take 1-2 blocks per content area. I
will send out definite dates when they are decided..

Students in grades 3-6 have been given hard copy planners but students in grades 7-8 will use digital planners. As parents, you will be able to see what assignments are due by logging on to their site.  Students will have the information.

As we get back into the swing of things, just a gentle reminder of how important it is to have students here every day and on time.  The school day begins at 7:45 but since the busses drop off at 7:20, students can be here any time after that. If your student is absent, please make sure you send in a note or call and let us know the  reason so we can excuse them.

Again, this year we did not receive the fresh fruit and vegetable grant from the USDA.  Our percent of free/reduced lunch participants was not high enough to fund us.  When we did receive the grant, it provided a fresh snack school wide but we are now not able to do that.  Starting in October, we will try to provide a  snack for the young students who cannot bring their own in.  So at this time, if you wish for your child to have a snack, please send it in with them each morning.

The monthly PTC meeting will be on September 21. All parents are welcome. The PTC has always been very supportive and generous but they need parents to help with some of their fundraising efforts.

School Photos
School Photos will be taken on September 30. Danielle Nelson is the photographer and she will have a table setup in the hall during Open House. You will be able to get the order forms that night. Retakes will be on October 14.

Bulldog parents, winter sports starts on Monday, 11/17. The coaches are Kayla Geel for cheering, Kyle Joy for boys basketball, and Ted Buswell for girls' basketball. The practice schedule for next week is as follow:

The championship soccer game has been moved from Sumner High School to the Cave Hill School on Monday afternoon - 4:00 start time. The field at Sumner is unavailable for Monday and Cave Hill allows the game to be played on a neutral field.
