Principal's Message

It is my pleasure, as your new principal, to welcome you to a new school year. I have had the privilege of spending the summer in your beautiful facility and have been in awe of the state-of-the art learning spaces, the lovely school grounds and the breathtaking sights in the surrounding area.  As I prepare to begin my first year at the Peninsula School, I can’t help but notice the quiet; the absence of learners at work. I am eager for the classrooms and hallways to be filled with the sounds of exploring, thinking, wondering, noticing, and trying.

You will notice an updated staff directory that lists several new names.  We have many new teachers and staff members who have joined the Peninsula team. We will all work diligently to provide your children with the highest-quality instruction in a safe and engaging learning environment.

The role of principal, your principal, is not one that I take lightly.  For the 19 years I have been a teacher, it has been my mission to positively impact student learning; to make a difference in children’s lives and help prepare them for the path they will take to their future. The scope of my mission is now broader but remains focused on the same goal.  I look forward to working with you to nurture and guide your children on their educational journey.

Please feel free to contact me should you want to communicate any questions, concerns, challenges or celebrations.  I can be reached at (207) 963-2003 or hdorr@rsu24.org. My office door is always open and I welcome the opportunity to talk with you.
